Temperature
As we get older, our bodies are not as able to regulate temperature. It is very common for people to sleep hot as they get older. For some people it’s the most important issue in considering a mattress purchase.

Different materials next to your body will have different effects. If temperature matters to you, then you’ll want something next to your body to help regulate temperature.

Recommendation:
Get a mattress with wool as a material used in the mattress cover, or get a wool topper. Wool has scales on it that create an arid environment inside, and it wicks moisture from the body. Therefore, you’ll sleep cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Avoid:
Mattresses made with memory foam close to the top. Companies that promote memory foam will tell you that it’s an open cell foam, that air flows through it better than other materials. Customer experiences prove differently.
