Couples sometimes disturb one another when one of them moves. That’s because motion transfers from one side of the bed to the other. This can result in both people having disrupted sleep.
This can be a major issue for couples.
Recommendation: Memory foam transfers the least amount of motion. Memory foam companies have advertised different experiments to demonstrate this. The most popular one is not spilling a glass of wine. (By the way, it’s a plastic glass with a cover on it.) There used to be an egg commercial and a bowling ball commercial. This stuff works. Memory foam transfers very little motion.
Latex also transfers very little motion.
You can also get two mattresses that go side by side. The size is called twin long for a king or a split queen for a queen. There are also some mattresses where the outside case is one case, but the interiors are split.
Avoid: Innerspings. Most innersprings are tied together; so when you bounce on one side, you bounce the whole mattress. |
